FOREST SWEET FOREST
Level 1: primary 1, 2 and 3 (recommended age: 6 -7 y)
Synopsis
Freddy is a
bear that lives alone in a dark and boring cave. It´s always dreaming about new
places for living; the North Pole, the mountain, etc.
One day it
decides to go and look for this fantastic place. On its way the bear finds
different animals in the same situation and they travel together.
Finally, they
found a really nice forest and they agree to live together.
Characters
- Freddy the bear
- Frog
- Rabbit
- Bird
This play is
based on an accumulative story, so different characters could be added to the
script, adapting it to the number of students in the group.
Character´s
objectives
- Freddy the
bear: a friendly bear that lives alone in a cave
- Frog: the poor
frog lived in a horrible pond full of mud
- Rabbit: a
hungry rabbit, always looking for food
- Bird: the
singing bird wishing to live with someone else
All the
characters in the story have the same objective, they are looking for a better
place to live.
Scenes
Scene 1
Freddy the bear
sleeping on its dark cave, is dreaming about the most beautiful places to live
in the mountains. When it wakes up it packages the suitcase and stars to walk
along the path.
Scene 2
The bear gets
to a horrible muddy pond where a frog is trying to jump. They talk about the
way to the mountains and they decide to travel together. They leave the scene
walking along the path.
Scene 3
The bear and
the frog are walking on the path and found a bird singing a very sad song. They
talk about why it is so sad and why they are moving up to the mountains.
Finally the bird decides to travel with them. They leave the scene walking
along the path together.
Scene 4
The bear, the
frog and the bear are walking and singing a funny song. On their way they find
a hungry rabbit eating some dried grass. They invite the rabbit to travel with
them. They leave the scene walking along the path together.
Scene 5
Night came and the get into a dark cave to sleep.
The sun rises and all the animals go out of the cave, discovering and
amazing forest with a clearing part in the middle, full of trees around a pond
and a really big mountain behind it.
Scene 6
All the animals agree that this is the place of their dreams and live
together in this fantastic pace.

ResponderEliminarI really like your story. The accumulative format is very appropriate, because you can add as many characters as you need.
I think it's a good story. If I had to change something, I would add several animals of each species. This way, even shy students can take part, saying few words or just making gestures. We could also add some harm to the bear's first home (contamination, the building of a road, etc.)
With this story, children can learn about friendship and about environment.
